Hello! We are Sean and Krista and we are honored that you are taking the time to learn more about us. If you or someone you know is considering adoption, please know that we recognize the significant emotional complexities that are involved in adoption and are praying you would have a sense of peace and hope as you consider this decision. We would love to connect with you if you are interested in learning more about who we are as a family.
Sean and I are high school sweethearts who have been married for over 11 years. We consider each other our best friend and absolutely love doing life together, hardships and all. Becoming parents has always been something that excites us! We began the journey toward expanding our family fairly early on in our marriage. Infertility unexpectedly became part of our story for many years as we experienced countless fertility treatment cycles and two miscarriages. This was a long and very difficult road at times but caused us to grow closer as a couple and lean on our faith.
In the spring of 2014, we were approached by one of my co-workers regarding an expectant mother in our area who was looking to make an adoption plan. Long story short, we met several times with our daughter’s then expectant mother and began forming a beautiful relationship with her that continues to this day. Our daughter is 3 years old now and having an open adoption with her birth family has truly been an amazing blessing for all of us. We do not view adoption as “plan B” for our family—it is has simply been how our journey has unfolded in God’s plan for our lives. Adoption has provided us with the greatest gift of our daughter, yet the sacrifice and loss involved in adoption is never lost on us. We firmly believe that we can experience many emotions at one time and adoption has shown us how joy and sorrow are often intertwined. It is our hope that we can welcome another child and their birth family into our lives as we seek to adopt again.
