Meet Ryan & Sarah
Hi, we’re Ryan and Sarah. Thank you so much for visiting our page and following along with us in our expectant journey toward adoption.
We’re college sweethearts and best friends who just celebrated our ten-year wedding anniversary this October. We love traveling, country fairs, and working in the yard together.
Ryan currently works in aeronautics, and I am a homemaker who thoroughly enjoys hospitality and creating a safe and cozy space for all our friends and family to enjoy. Nothing makes us happier than a house full of loved ones with a warm meal in their bellies, lots of laughter, and s’mores going outside around the fire pit for the kiddos.
Shortly after we began dating in 2003, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Even during those early days, we talked about having children, both biological and adopted.
After the loss of Ryan’s dad and my mom in the short span of three years as newlyweds, we longed to turn the page to fresh beginnings and new life. We decided to begin trying to build the family that we had always pictured; biological children first and then through adoption. We felt further motivated to see this plan through because we longed to see our beloved parents reflected in children who shared their same bloodlines and DNA.
Five years later, and after what seemed like a never ending litany of doctors visits and medical tests with no answers to show for it, we realized our need to embrace the path that God had been leading us toward all along. His ways are not our ways, and His plans are not our plans, but they’re always perfect and BEST. We are so thankful that God was patient and willing to wait for us to fully and enthusiastically embrace His plan for our family! We can clearly see now that it has always been adoption for us. Through our journey, we’ve been reminded that family is so much more than blood. Love makes a family, and legacy is passed down by example, not DNA.
Our current prayer is for the dear brave expectant mother out there who is preparing to make one of the toughest decisions of her life. We pray grace and peace in abundance over you. We pray for comfort and strength. Though we don’t know you yet, we can’t wait to meet you soon -- to love and partner with you in loving on the perfect miracle(s) within you now. Our hearts already hold so much love for you and admiration at the ultimate display of sacrificial love that you are preparing to make!
If this road seems daunting to you and if you feel overwhelmed, know that you are not alone. We see and hear you, and in the smallest way, we understand and feel these feelings too. If you’ll allow us, we yearn to walk alongside you, to pray for you, and encourage you through this time. You are precious and loved. We can’t wait to see how God will interweave our stories with one another as we partner in loving our little one(s) well.
