Meet Ryan & Heather
Thank you for taking a moment to learn a little about our family. Ryan and I have been married for nine years and have one beautiful son named Luke. We met in college when we were working at a restaurant together, and we immediately connected over our love of music. We dated for almost four years before marrying off the coast of Georgia on St. Simon’s Island, a place special to us both. We love adventure, we love to laugh, and we enjoy hosting our friends and families for get-togethers.
Ryan is a regional sales manager and we, along with my family, own a youth sports’ organization. On the weekends, you’ll find us on the ball field. One perk of owning this type of business is that our son has been able to try any and every sport his heart desires! Owning this business has also allowed me to make my own schedule so that I can be home with our son. I enjoy volunteering in Luke’s school and planning fun activities, and I am thankful for a job that allows me to do so.
We love to travel and explore new places! Our son gets excited to come home and add a pin to our family travel map. Some of our favorite traditions include our annual trip to the mountains with friends and our family beach trip each year. The saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and boy do we have the most incredible village! Both sets of grandparents live close by, and we have some of the greatest friends who have become more like family to us. To say this child has been longed for and prayed for is an understatement.
We were blessed to have our son naturally but when we decided to try for a second, we had a multitude of problems from infertility to miscarriages. We know God wouldn’t put such a strong desire in our hearts without providing a way. After much discussion and prayer, we knew God was leading us to adoption. During our struggles, Ryan and I became licensed foster parents and through that, we came to love a little girl as our very own. When she returned home our hearts were broken, but we have come to see it as God’s reassurance that we absolutely can love a child regardless of whether or not we are biologically related.
We have so much love and desire for another child and to give Luke a sibling that we are already preparing our hearts to meet our little one. We trust that God has a perfect plan for our family so we are anxiously waiting to see how every detail will unfold in His perfect timing.
