Meet Jon and Breanna!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family.
Jon & I met in of November 2009 on a blind date that was set up by two of our mutual friends. We were engaged by March 2010. We had a year and a half engagement until we finally said “I Do” on September 24th, 2011. So, we are going on almost 7 years of marriage! Jon gave me the honor in becoming a stepmom to his son Izaiah. Izaiah is the light of our life. He just turned 10 this year. He keeps us busy with all his sporting events, which we love! Izaiah accepted me has his second mom right from the start and I have helped raised him as my son.
Jon works for a Solvent company in the warehouse and has been there for 3 years. I work for a Telecom company as a Lead Project Coordinator and I just celebrated my 10-year anniversary this month.
Our family recently moved out of the city to a small town. Jon and I both grew up in small towns and we wanted to raise our family in a small town. We have shared custody of Izaiah and the move put us a lot closer to where he lives with his birth Mom.
Jon and I wanted to start growing our family a year after our marriage. After trying to conceive on our own for a year we were referred to the fertility clinic. After 2 surgeries and 3 failed rounds of IUI’s we decided to take a break. It was hard on both of us both emotionally and physically. In October 2017, I asked Jon if we should go back to the fertility clinic to start the process again. We weighed our options and that is when we started researching the adoption process. I’ve always wanted to be a mom, and I love being Izaiah’s mom, but we did not feel like our family was truly complete. I never thought it would be so hard to have a child naturally. In November 2017 we attended an adoption seminar that provided worship, classes and special guest speakers and singers. During worship Jon and I both were touched by the stories, songs, and sermon and we knew this is what God chose as our journey to becoming parents again!
We are so excited for this journey and cannot wait to have our family multiply!
