Jon and I met in 2001 and were married the following year. Growing our family was something that was important to both of us. We knew that we wanted to have children and assumed it would happen quickly. After two years of trying to conceive, we finally went to an infertility specialist and endured several rounds of tests. Another two years passed with more waiting and testing, and we were still unsuccessful. It was heartbreaking and I became bitter and upset toward God and others around me, especially women who were having children so easily. It was during that time that God began working in my heart and placing on us the call to adopt.
We fostered for a few years and were so blessed by the children we welcomed in our home. Our hope is that we impacted their lives and hearts as much as they did ours. It was another ten years before God began to prepare us for the little boy we now call our son. After all of those years of hoping, praying, and pursuing adoption we finally adopted our son. Through the selflessness of his birth mother, we became parents. We are so blessed and thankful for the gift of parenthood, and are now hoping to begin that journey again. We know that our family isn’t complete, and are praying for the Lord to grow our family through adoption again.
Our story is not over yet, we believe that God has another child for us. Our son is meant to be an older brother and we are meant to be parents to another child. We are praying that God will provide and we have hope that He will provide.
