Hi, we're David & Denée! We live in South Carolina and have been married for 8 years. We met while working at a home design store and connected over our shared love of music, coffee, and making elaborate hats for family parties. We dated for 3 years before marrying in a beautiful historic church in downtown Charleston.
I (Denée) studied Interior Design & Architecture and work as a design consultant for a home builder. I love reading, wandering around antique stores, and water color & calligraphy. David studied Art History & Sculpture and is a researcher for a government contractor as well as teaching after school art to elementary students. He loves woodworking, gardening, and working on sculptures & paintings. We are blessed to work for companies that are very flexible and always put family first.
We both love to read and already have an extensive collection of books that we can’t wait to read to our children. We also love anything creative and love working on projects together. We can't wait for our future kiddos to join us!
On evenings and weekends, you can find us dancing around the kitchen to 60's beach music while we cook dinner, riding bikes around our neighborhood, going to the farmer’s market, the beach, & museums, spending time with friends at outdoor festivals, and hanging out in our backyard with our sweet little Yorkie, Madi. We're very close with our families and are lucky that they live nearby and we get together often. They’re all so excited that we’re adopting!
I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember and spent much of my free time from age 13 through college babysitting & being a nanny. David has always been amazing with kids and it’s one of the first things that drew me to him. We’ve always known we may have trouble having biological children so early on adoption was in the forefront of our minds. After infertility treatments were unsuccessful, we realized that adoption was what God had planned for us all along.
We are so excited to meet our future children and would love to have a relationship with you in a way you feel most comfortable with. We’re incredibly honored that you've read our story and are praying that as you make this decision you have the peace and comfort that only the Lord can provide.
